Ditto Coventry, Richard.

We recorded 18.0C as a maximum on Thursday afternoon, just 0.1C below the warmest February day since before 1892 here in Coventry on the 23rd February 1990.

Quite remarkable, as two weeks ago, the day maximum was 0.2C!

Steve,

I see Coleshill nr Birmingham had the record for yesterday at 18.7C so pretty close to your reading. Having now had a chance to look at my 1 minute data, I recorded 18.9C at 14;19, 15:19 and 15:24hrs. I'm a grade B COL site so not as exposed or as high (37m) as my nearest offical MO site, Charlwood which is about 10km to the NE and around 62m which logged 17.6C. These type of conditions can prove tricky with very light wind so not much air moving through the screen as well as sunshine, which did feel warm yesterday afternoon. I'm still using the CS CDL system which is working well and my 2 wirless sensors in the screen also logged around 19C. I plot my daily extremes against those at Charlwood and generally they agree well.
