February 11th

Continuous moderate snow throughout yesterday evening, followed by continuous light snow from shortly before midnight until 0700, resulted in a fresh fall of 10cm here despite the ground being sodden at the start of the fall following a thaw of lying snow yesterday morning and then 3 hours of rain.
With the SE/E wind gusting up to 40 mph yesterday evening there was drifting of the snow in exposed areas and by 0900 today drifts up to 60cm were noted.
Today has been a cold and cloudy day with a maximum, up to 1800, of -1.1c. No thawing at all of the lying snow and above 200m or so the trees are still thick with snow and ice.
