Interesting high clouds

Postby Peter Wright » 2013 Jul 29, 20:02

At about 1950h GMT, west of here, some interesting high clouds. They are about 10 bands, maybe more, of what I would call Cirrostratus, with clear gaps between, exactly parallel. There is lumpy low-level Cu hiding the possible ends of some of the bands.

Maybe they are Cs, but there doesnt seem to be any other cloud at the same level. I have a photo, I'll try to send it later.
Edgmond, Nr Newport Shropshire. N Shropshire Plain, rain shadow of the Welsh hills, sheltered from all snow directions, exposed to Cheshire Gap showers, otherwise similar to rest of inland England.
