June wetter and warmer than average

Postby greg_gruner » 2014 Jun 28, 16:21

With a heavy thunderstorm this afternoon and rainfall of 10.6mm in around 2 hours, my June total stands at 51mm, in excess of the estimated LTA of 46mm.
This despite a 12 day dry spell from the 14th to the 25th. It is really only because of torrential thunderstorm rain on the 13th (19.2mm in about 3 hours) that the month is wetter than average, and there has been a lot of fine warm weather. It has been a sunnier than average month, and also warmer than average by about 1C.
So June is the 7th consecutive warmer than average month, and 6 out of the last 7 months have been wetter than average.

63 mm reached for June today after 3 days of showers (giving 18 mm) which followed a 14 day dry spell.

Above the 30yr average of 57.2 mm for June now.

Rainfall total for June (1st - 28th) now at 34.9 mm (~70% eLTA).

Sunshine = 246 hours (~120%)

Mean maximum = 21.9°C (+2.5°C)
Mean minimum = 11.5°C (+0.6°C)
Mean = 16.7°C (+1.5°C).

Warmer, drier (so far) and sunnier than my very estimated LTA.
