October 2013 Warmth

Postby Nick Gardner » 2013 Oct 18, 18:30

Yesterday recorded a maximum of 21.0°C, the 4th +20°C maximum this month.

This is turning into a warm October and given the forecast, it is likely to stay warmer than average right through to the 4th week at least.

1st - 18th October (very estimated LTAs)
Mean minimum = 10.1°C (+1.5°C)
Mean maximum = 17.6°C (+2.4°C)
Mean = 13.9°C (+2.0°C)
Rainfall = 69 mm
Sunshine = 78 hours.

Plenty of chestnuts around this year and unlike last year, they're of a good size and taste superb. The floor of the nearby woodland is carpetted with them!

There is little, if any autumnal colour at the moment. I think we'll have to wait well into November for the leaves to change.

Another mild night and good from the point of view that no heating needed as the house temperature has yet to drop below 20°C.

(19:30), 14.8°C, RH 94%, DP 13.8°C, 1007 hPa (F), Wind 5 mph ESE.
