Jan 2014 (1st Half) - Soggy but Mild

Postby Nick Gardner » 2014 Jan 16, 20:14

Jan 1st - 16th:

Rain has fallen on every day of this month so far. That's noteworthy in itself but a total of 128 mm has fallen making for a wet month even if another drop of the wet stuff doesn't fall.

Mean min = 3.8°C
Mean max = 10.8°C
Mean = 7.3°C
Rain = 128 mm
Sunshine = 39 hours.
Air frosts = 4 (all slight)

Quite a few beautifully clear starry nights have allowed the temperature to drop and give a few brief light frosts but the days have been rather consistent in their mildness. Eleven days >10°C and the lowest maximum = 8.9°C.

Catkins out and snowdrops in flower, and cuckoo pint in leaf.
