Postby John Oliver » 2014 Feb 01, 10:17

Here in Dorchester (south Dorset) following 22.0mm of rain in the last 24 hours the total rainfall for January stands at 254.0mm (239% of av.) to smash the previous record of 213.4mm in 1906.
January was the 12th wettest month of any name since local records commenced in 1896.

The combined Dec / Jan rainfall is 465.7mm (207% of av.) - the third highest 2-month total on record.

With four weeks to go, thoughts will now be on the wettest winter on record!!
