Forecast warmth on Thurs 23 Feb 2012

Postby Len Wood » 2012 Feb 20, 20:44

I know 18 C has been forecast as possible in places for the SE England but here in SW England, 15C has been forecast.
I am sure members have experience of what they might expect in their own 'garden' given the synoptic conditions.
I am not expecting more than 14C.

See if you can give a local forecast for max temp at your location and follow it up to see how right you are.

Interesting idea! But in practice I will usually have been influenced by the model that I look at, the Met O site forecast, and/or the radio 4 forecast.
Edgmond, Nr Newport Shropshire. N Shropshire Plain, rain shadow of the Welsh hills, sheltered from all snow directions, exposed to Cheshire Gap showers, otherwise similar to rest of inland England.

I think I may see 15.0c. It got to 13.7c today (21st Feb), so we'll see.

True Peter. I am influenced by the Met Office forecast too, but they are not forecasting precisely for your garden.
Only you have the experience necessary to do that.

Shrouded in fog all day here on this strip of SW facing coast.
Max 11.5C.

So my forecast of not expecting more than 14C was correct. If not a bit weak at the knees.
