Penzance - Contrasting Afternoons.

Postby Graham Easterling » 2014 Nov 11, 16:54

The afternoon of the 10th, heavy rain, conditions not helped by the fact it travelled horizontally. About as bleak as it gets.

Wind Speeds included
Land's End, gusts of 55-60mph, mean speed up to 41mph (F8)
St Ives, gust of 47kt
Scilly @ 16:00 mean speed 45mph, gusting to 60mph.
Peak gust at the Penzance NCI station was 53mph.

The afternoon of the 11th, mainly sunny, almost calm, very good visibility. Lovely afternoon for a walk on the beach

You notice changes in the weather on the tip of Cornwall. During my few years in London it sort of blended into the background.

85mm of rain so far this month.
