11th June 2013 - High UV

Postby Nick Gardner » 2013 Jun 11, 19:05

Hi UV today despite a predominance of cloud and very hazy conditions even when the sun was briefly shining.

UV peaked at 8.1 at 14:45 during a short sunny spell though I suspect that the index would have been approaching 9.0 if the sun had managed to shine at around 13:00 to 13:30.

This is the first time the UV has exceeded 8.0 this month with the previous high being 7.6 on the 9th.

The crystal clear, cloudless skies of the 4th to the 8th this month only gave a maximum UV Index in the range of 6.1 to 6.6.
