Warm anomaly in sea surface temperature

Postby Len Wood » 2013 Jun 14, 15:56

The recent warmth over Scandinavia seems to have produced a noticeable warm anomaly in SST between Iceland and Norway.
What this means in terms of our early summer weather a little further south over the UK is uncertain.
Really it is just a reminder that the atmosphere drives the sea temperature in the short term.
But eventually there may be some feedback.
