20th August 2013 - A sunny day near the coast

Postby Nick Gardner » 2013 Aug 20, 19:36

Driving around south east and mid Devon doing site visits (as usual) it has been quite cloudy inland but clear on the coasts today. A light sea breeze was all that was needed to keep the coasts sunny all day yet just a mile inland things were much cloudier. At this time of year the coast is not always cooler.

It was a rather 'chilly' start for August.

Minimum = 8.2°C
Maximum = 22.4°C
Rain = 0.0 mm
Sunshine = 12.6 hours.

This pattern has occurred for the last few days with quite cloudy skies inland but good amounts of sunshine on the coast.

August sunshine total now at 151 hours.

A clear evening and not as cool as yesterday at this time.
