Depth of convection

Postby Len Wood » 2014 Mar 22, 15:23

Impressive depth of convection to give Cb here in Devon
Two notable hail showers.
The first at 1500z with large hail >2 mm making all surfaces white.
The second with smaller hail but still lasting about 5 mins.

Hail does not do my tulips any good.

A brief but intense shower of small hail here about 2 hours ago has left a partial covering ( 20% at 1900 ) of hail on the ground. About 2 miles E/SE of here the roads were covered with 1-2cm of slush from melting hail.
