20th April 2014 - No sun, no warmth and it's grim!

Postby Nick Gardner » 2014 Apr 20, 17:32

Today has come as a big shock to the system after what has been a lovely sunny and warm spell of weather.

No sunshine and imtermittent, light rain made for a really, really grim day.

A maximum of 10.3°C and 2.6 mm of rain.

Same here Nick.

Max 10.7C
Min 5.0C
Rain 6.2 mm
Zero sun.

The lovely sunny week before already seems a distant memory.

It was quite well forecast by UKMO to give them credit.
Rain arrived a few hours earlier though. Started here at 1030 BST.

The only good thing about the rain was that it saved me watering the new plants in my garden.

Grim yesterday - glorious today!

Sunshine returned from mid-morning onwards and was unbroken all afternoon. Much warmer too with a maximum of 15.8°C.

A late, tempering sea breeze developed at 14:45 with an abrupt swing in wind direction from easterly to southerly.

Nearly 9 hours of sunshine and climbing - that's better.
