BIRP sampling - postage on samples

... A bit of an oddity, and I will check with the Post Office, but am just getting the latest batch of rainwater samples ready for the BIRP project that finishes today.

Looking at the postage on the envelope they've sent me, the postage is £1.69

The pre-franked stick-on strips for returning in the same envelope total £1.59.

The packet is going to be slightly heavier anyway due to having several samples.

What pre-paid postage do others have?

Martin.

... just back from posting said samples: as suspected, the pre-paid postage was not enough; the package weighed 203 gm, which for first-class is £1.96 and second-class £1.72.

Not really worth worrying about because the counter staff didn't accept the pre-paid postage! I had to pay up-front (£1.96) and I always send these things Recorded/Signed-for anyway, so the total cost was £2.73.
