Negretti Precision Aneroid

Postby Mike Brown » 2013 Nov 27, 10:25

I wonder if anyone has ever taken one of these Mk II devices apart, or has got an internal diagram. I have just bought one of these and it needs to be calibrated etc. Negretti have of course long since gone so I would need to do this myself. I believe that the fault lies within the casing on the left hand side where the pressure chambers are. It is working fine except for an intermittent problem, so any help would be most welcome. I have got a diagram from the Observers handbook, and download a couple of photographs of almost the inside of the chamber, but I really need a full view before I take it apart.

Best wishes

Maybe get in touch with http://www.honitonclockclinic.co.uk - they have one for sale (I **WISH** I could afford it - but Her Indoors would kill me). I know they can service them and I wouldn't be surprised at all if they would give advice. Very helpful chap.

Thank you for the thought. Similar situation here with 'non essential' expenditure. Hence the need to do it myself. I have taken it apart and I am in the process of trying to repair it. Quite simple really until you discover that some of the screws seem to be welded in. Hopefully if I can get it going I will put the details on my website.

Best wishes
