Lightning Detection

Postby Mike Brown » 2014 Apr 23, 12:30

I have installed a Bolteck Stormtracker and it is now working quite happily. However, I would like to check its accuracy/calibration against other sources. I have tried the following

http://www.euclid.org/realtime.html
http://brunnur.vedur.is/athuganir/eldin ... ag_na.html?
http://www.isleofwightweather.co.uk/live_storm_data.htm
http://www.blitzortung.org/Webpages/index.php
http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?acti ... ning;sess=
http://www.pjbartlett.co.uk/Sferics.htm

Allowing for time differences none of them seem to correlate too well with others. I am not aware of any other 'live' sites. Is there any that others could recommend that would help me please?

Thanks

Mike

... the site I use most is ....
http://www.meteox.com/h.aspx?r=&jaar=-3 ... ightning=1

and of course the Met Office also has its own display - but frankly its so 'clunky' and slow to load that I don't recommend it.

However, both are 'fed' by the Met Office ATD system which is generally acknowledged to be the best around.
