Blimey Richard, that's a very high dew point and something more akin to the Tropics! It must have felt very 'sticky' indeed.

It beats (by a long way) the highest DP I have recorded here which was 20.9°C on the 12th August 2012.

Which surprises me somewhat because I've always regarded this part of the British Isles as having some very high DPs, especially late summer and early autumn. And the climate here is quite 'muggy' through the summer and early autumn.

DP maximum here today was 18.3°C (maximum temperature was 24.7°C), the highest DP this year so far was on the 1st July with 19.5°C. In most years the DP gets above 20°C but struggles afterwards, hence the record only being 0.9°C above that.

Anybody know what the British dew point record is?

Hi Nick, yes it's been very sticky here today, my previous high dewpoint was around 20°c a few years ago, I'll have to check that out.

My AWS/Cumulus program was indicating a record had been broken and then I noticed the dewpoint reading.

It's still 20.3c at 2050Z under 1/8 skies. Very pleasant evening.
