Charlbury - Record cold July night

Postby Dick Lovett » 2015 Jul 31, 08:37

The minimum air temperature of 3.8C at 0518 GMT this morning is easily the lowest I have recorded in July.
The previous lowest was 5.5C in 1993.

It was 5.8C here at Farnborough last night.

Reading University had 5.1C, and Benson in Oxfordshire had 2.5C (with a grass min of -1C).

I wouldn't be surprised if a notable frost hollow such as the Chipstead Valley had an air frost.

Very unusual for the peak of the annual mean temperature cycle!
