It's great to visit other countries, but it's nearly as exciting to plan your visits, or even just to explore and dream! You can get information from a whole host of websites. Much of it is extremely helpful, but it is often geared to the couple or family who stays in hotels or guest houses, and budget travellers tend to miss out. In particular, most websites mention loads of B&Bs or Pensions but rarely mention hostels.
We at UKTrail like to travel in budget style, usually solo, and we would like to give you the benefits of our experiences from the viewpoint of a solo traveller.
Here are some fascinating countries! Take a look at our reports!
The whole of this country is attractive; most places lie among hills. Many hills are covered in forests, and the whole landscape (mid-June) was very green. The people we met were, without exception, all friendly and courteous, helpful when you ask, and not easily perturbed or excitable. Restaurants were much cheaper and meals much more substantial than in Britain. Tourist sights were quietly efficient, although signs to them left a lot to be desired. The roads were all winding with bad edges, and other drivers get annoyed when we drive cautiously; that's the only negative we found about this delightful country.
